Baiana who lives in a city hit by storms in RS is located by firefighters; woman spent three days without contact with her family | Bahia

She is 36 years old and has lived in the municipality of Santa Clara do Sul for almost a decade, with her husband, Jonas Vanderpool, and the couple’s son, Ibini Vanderpool. The city is among the areas hit by the storms.

Lívia’s family is from Castro Alves, in the Bahian region, and was distressed by the lack of news since Wednesday (1st). This Sunday, relief came through communication with her sister, Mirla Rebouças.

Mirla explained that she had contacted the Rio Grande do Sul Civil Defense and firefighters went to the address she indicated, finding Lívia. Upon learning that she was wanted by her family, the Bahian woman went to a higher location, accompanied by the team, where there was a mobile phone signal to call her relatives.

Lívia explained to her sister that she was without electricity, and that’s why she saved her cell phone’s battery, in order to prevent the device’s battery from discharging. She said that she is still at home and did not need to be taken to a shelter, despite having no water, electricity and scarce food.

“His family [do cunhado] it disappeared. No one can say where it is or what happened. There is no way for them to go there, because the bridge has collapsed. So we don’t know if they are alive or if they died”, said Mirla.
