More people continue to be affected by the rains in Rio Grande do Sul. According to a new report released by the government, at 6pm this Sunday, 5th, 78 deaths were confirmed — and 4 deaths remain under investigation. In addition, 341 municipalities were affected, 18,487 people in shelters, 115,844 homeless, 844,673 affected, 175 injured and 105 missing.
Bulletins are released at least three times a day, meanwhile, Civil Defense and other authorities work to help rescue stranded and injured people.
The integrated rescue force for flood victims received reinforcements this Sunday. According to the State, the number of vessels used by the Military Fire Department was doubled, reaching 257 vehicles. The security forces fleet also received an additional 526 vehicles. Finally, the number of troops on the front line was increased, with 4,991 military and civilian personnel.
The ‘SOS Rio Grande do Sul’ account, the official donation channel aimed at RS, has already raised more than R$38 million in donations via Pix.
