Originally scheduled to be one of the protagonists of the main fight of the UFC event scheduled for April 27th, in Las Vegas (USA), Manel Kape had to withdraw from the confrontation against Brazilian Matheus Nicolau, being replaced by Alex Perez. Through your social networks (see below or click here), the Angolan flyweight (57 kg) spoke out and explained the reasons that led to the cancellation of his participation in the show.

In the publication, Manel Kape revealed that a rib injury took him to the operating table and, consequently, forced him to withdraw from the rematch against Matheus Nicolau. With a long history of canceled fights since signing with the UFC in 2020, the Angolan exempted himself from responsibility for all previous duels that did not take place.

“This is the first time I’ve withdrawn from a fight. I broke my rib cartilage and couldn’t move for a week. On Thursday last week, my surgery went very well. Keep in mind that all of my fights that have been canceled in the past have been because of my opponents. Where I come from, we’re used to fighting for free. I’m not bragging, I’m just being honest. So don’t ever think that I’m like some of you,” Kape explained.
