Flamengo champion has prison sentence ordered

-

Willians, a former midfielder who made his mark at Flamengo during the 2000s, is facing a complicated situation in his personal life. Recently, it came to light that the player was arrested due to a child support debt worth R$700,000, as reported by TV Record. The action was filed by the mother of one of his children. However, the former athlete’s defense disputes the amounts presented, although it acknowledged the existence of the debt.

Currently, Willians resides in Portugal with his wife and daughter. According to his defense, he is waiting to receive back wages from a club to regularize his financial situation and fulfill his child support obligations.

Willians’ career at Flamengo was marked by moments of glory. He arrived at the club in 2008, coming from Santo André, and, over the years, won the hearts of the red and black fans. In 2009, he became a key player in the squad, contributing to the winning of two Campeonato Carioca titles and one Brasileirão title.

After his successful spell at Flamengo, the player had a brief foray into European football, defending the colors of Udinese, in Italy. However, his stay on the continent was not as prosperous as his stay in Brazil, taking him back to the country to play for Internacional de Porto Alegre.

When will Flamengo’s next game be?
