Survey of Paraná Research shows the current mayor with 27.3% of the votes against 25.7% for the deputy; in the 2nd round, Nunes would win

A survey by Paraná Pesquisas released this Thursday (May 2, 2024) shows that the mayor of São Paulo, Ricardo Nunes (MDB), and federal deputy Guilherme Boulos (Psol) are technically tied in the margin of error in the dispute for mayor of São Paulo. capital of São Paulo. However, in the case of the 2nd round, Nunes would have an advantage over the psolist.

Supported by governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) and seeking a public blessing from former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), the current mayor appears with 27.3% of voting intentions. Boulos, who received explicit support from President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) during the Labor Day event on Wednesday (May 1), has 25.7%.

Presenter José Luiz Datena (PSDB) and deputy Tabata Amaral (PSB) come next, with 15.3% and 8.2% of voting intentions, respectively. The rest did not score above 5%.

The survey was conducted from April 26 to May 1 and polled and interviewed 1,200 voters. The margin of error is 2.9 percentage points, plus or minus. The confidence interval is 95%. The survey is registered with the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) under number SP-05530/2024. It cost R$14,000 and was paid for with its own resources. Here is the full text (PDF – 882 kB).

The survey also tested 2nd round scenarios. In them, Ricardo Nunes would have an advantage over Boulos and Tabata, while the Psol deputy would win over PSB in the case of a direct confrontation. Read below:

  • Tabata Amaral – 33.9%;
