Two joint efforts to negotiate debts with the municipality and the State will be held this May in Teresina

The Court of Justice of Piauí (TJ-PI) will hold, this month of May, two joint efforts to reconcile the processes of individuals and legal entities with tax debts with the municipality of Teresina and the State. The Municipal Tax Execution Task Force takes place from May 6th to 17th, from 8am to 4pm, in the historic building of the Court of Justice of the State of Piauí (old headquarters), in the Cabral neighborhood, from 8am to 4pm. The State Tax Execution Task Force takes place at the same time and place, however, between the 20th and 29th of May.

Individuals or legal entities with municipal and state debts such as IPTU, ISS, location and operating fees or environmental fees may participate in this negotiation.

“This joint effort was created with the purpose of helping the population of Teresina to pay off their debts with the municipality, through negotiations with unique and accessible discount proposals. Debts such as IPTU, for example, can be negotiated in amounts that fit into the citizen’s pocket, so that they can clear their name”, says the general inspector of Justice of Piauí, judge Olímpio Galvão.

For the judge of the 3rd Public Finance Court of Teresina, Haydée Lima de Castelo Branco, “the action is an initiative that will help everyone involved, as in addition to enabling citizens to keep up to date with their municipal accounts, it also allows the reduction of these processes within the scope of Justice, and the receipt of the amounts owed by the municipality of Teresina”, explains the magistrate.

According to the judge of the 4th Public Finance Court of the capital, Lucyane Martins Brito, it is not necessary to schedule hearings in advance, interested parties can go to the event during their working hours.

“During the period that the joint efforts are taking place, if the citizen has any debt with the municipality or State, simply pay attention to the dates for each service, and go to the joint location with your personal documentation, for now start negotiations and conciliations with discounts and installments”, says magistrate Lucyane Martins Brito.

The action is carried out by the General Inspectorate of Justice of Piauí (CGJ-PI), in partnership with the 3rd and 4th Public Finance Courts of Teresina, the Attorney General of the State of Piauí and the City of Teresina.
