Police investigate death of man shot in the West Zone | Rio de Janeiro

Rio – The Civil Police are investigating the death of a man on Avenida Marechal Fontenelle, in Sulacap, in the West Zone of Rio, on Wednesday night (1st). Images circulating on social media show the victim, Antônio Carlos Souza Silva, aged 52, being approached by four suspects on two motorcycles moments before being shot.

According to witnesses, Antônio was an app driver and was on his motorcycle when the criminals announced the robbery. In the action, the man was “kicked” away from the vehicle. Reports also indicate that he asked not to be killed. However, the suspects took the motorcycle and then shot him.

According to the Military Police, agents from the 14th BPM (Bangu) were called to a homicide and found the victim already dead. The area was isolated and the location preserved for forensic work by the Homicide Department (DHC).

The suspects have not yet been located. Investigations are underway at DHC to determine the motivation and authorship of the crime.
