Rio – A Capital Homicide Police (DHC) indicted, this Wednesday (24), Eduardo Sobreira Moraes, Cezar Daniel Mondêgo de Souza and military police officer Leandro Machado – who are temporarily arrested – for involvement in the death of lawyer Rodrigo Marinho Crespo. The victim was shot dead on February 26, on Avenida Marechal Câmara, in the center of Rio. The specialist also requested the preventive detention of the perpetrators.

The investigation was dismembered in order to identify and hold criminally responsible the others involved in the lawyer’s death.
Who are the indictees:
Leandro Machado da Silva He is assigned to the 15th Military Police Battalion (BPM), in Duque de Caxias. He already has a history of imprisonment for murder and for joining the militia in Duque de Caxias.
Cezar Daniel He had been an appointed employee of the Legislative Assembly of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Alerj) since 2019. He left the position at the beginning of this month and would be replaced by Eduardo. But the ordinance on the change was rendered null and void. According to Alerj, Cezar remains exonerated and the position is vacant. The reason for the dismissal and where the appointment came from were not disclosed. The suspect received remuneration of R$2,029.37.
Eduardo Moraes He is identified by the investigation as being responsible for the surveillance and monitoring of the victim in the days leading up to the crime, and also on the day of death, from the morning until the early afternoon, using a white goal, similar to that of the executors.

The Civil Police continues to investigate to identify the others involved and the motivation for the crime.
