Balotelli hits the post and is fourth in Multistars

José Fernando Santana, known as Balorelli, finished close to the podium in the Multistars combined event, in Brescia, Italy. The Brazilian even flirted with the podium in the competition, arriving in the last race with 7359 points and second place. However, with just the 1500m remaining, he finished 9th and ended up falling to fourth overall in the competition.

On Saturday, José Fernando started the competition in 2nd position in the 100m, time of 10.96 and 870 points. Then, in the long jump, he clocked 7m35 and scored another 898. In the shot put, the Brazilian clocked 14m04 and scored another 731 points. With 7th position in the high jump, with a mark of 1m86, José Fernando scored 679 points and closing the first day, in the 400m dash, he had a time of 50s15, which was worth 9th position overall, with a further 808 points. After the first half of the competition, the Brazilian had 3986 points and was in fifth place overall.

On Sunday, Balotelli had an excellent race in the 110m hurdles, winning among the participants and scoring 990 points, and then he was 7th in the discus throw, with 43m13 and a further 728. In the pole vault, the Brazilian scored 4m65 and finished in 4th position and obtaining another 804 points. Balotelli returned to the competition well after winning the javelin throw in 67m47. This added up to 851 points, leaving him in second place overall with 7359, behind Frenchman Teo Bastien. However, in the last race, 1500m, the Brazilian only finished in 9th place, with a time of 4:56.87 and only scored 578 points.

Balotelli finished the competition with 7937 points, just 26 behind the bronze medalist. The gold went to Belgian Jente Hauttekeete, with 8020 points, while silver went to Risto Lillemets, from Estonia, with 7971, and Frenchman Bastien closed the podium with 7963 points.
