In the second game at the Elcyr Resende de Mendonça stadium, Yarlen scored his second goal for Botafogo. The young striker was confident that he would score goals against Boavista, this Wednesday, and made a promise to his mother.
– I wanted to thank God. I was very happy. When I was at home, I told my mother (Monique) that I was going to score a goal for her and the letter M. And I did. She must be very happy at home. I would like to thank the group for always embracing me, believing in my potential, thanking Fabio (Matias) for the opportunity and thanking the fans for what they are doing for me – highlighted Yarlen, in the mixed zone.
– I want to score many more goals with this shirt here, big, this star is shining. God is very good to me, to my family and to the group – he added.
Interestingly, Yarlen scored a goal with each leg. Would he be ambidextrous?
– I train with both, left and right, my father taught me to hit with both legs. To this day, in training, on penalties, finishing, I train with the left and the right. I hope to continue scoring goals with the left and right, as long as God wants – he said.
After the 4-0 victory over Boavista, Yarlen dedicated a good part of his interview to thanks, such as Rafael and Fabio Matias.
– I really thanked him (Rafael), who is very affectionate with me, he is playful, he always hugs me. Thank you for your assistance, I’m very happy and so is he. I would like to thank Fabio very much, he talked to me about always having his feet on the ground, continuing to evolve, never lowering his level, always one level higher. Always keep working, never stop. The group is doing everything he asked – said Yarlen, before finishing.
– All this is happening, I don’t even have words. God is so good. It’s what my parents always dreamed of, me too. My family hugs me a lot, my friends too – he added.
