Gabigol was punished for two years by the Anti-Doping Sports Court (TJDA) for fraud in the anti-doping test
Gabigol’s two-year sentence for doping test fraud took everyone involved by surprise. With the help of Flamengo, the attacker’s defense defined a strategy to reverse the punishment received by the Anti-Doping Sports Court (TJDA).
According to information released by ‘ESPN’, Gabigol’s line of defense passes through the security cameras on the CT Ninho do Urubu’s internal circuit. The main idea is to show that the attacker was present at the Training Center at the scheduled exam time and, as a result, there was a contradiction in the officers’ testimony.
In Flamengo’s version, Gabigol performed at Ninho do Urubu at 8am (Brasília time), while members of ABCD (Brazilian Doping Control Authority) arrived at 9am (Brasília time). According to reports, an official from the organization confirmed that he saw urine coming out of the athlete’s urethra, ruling out any type of technical fraud.
GABIGOL FOLLOWED THE ADVICE OF A FLA DOCTOR
Gabigol’s delay in taking the exam may have been due to medical interference from the club. This is because, according to reports, the attacker received instructions from Flamengo professionals to collect urine between exercises.
Supported by evidence, Gabigol intends to seek the suspensive effect from the CAS (Competence of the Arbitration Court). The Flamengo number 10’s defense base goes against the possible contradiction of one of the professionals in relation to the officer’s statement in which he claims to have seen the moment the player urinated.
GABIGOL SUSPENDED FOR 2 YEARS
Until the situation is resolved, Gabigol is being punished for two years for attempted anti-doping fraud. Therefore, the attacker will be left out of Carioca’s final against Nova Iguaçu, at Maracanã. Finally, the player should also be absent from Flamengo’s debut in the Libertadores da América.
