The city hall of Campo Grande, capital of Mato Grosso do Sul, sanctioned the law that grants a subsidy of R$ 16.2 million to the Guaicurus Consortium to pay for public transport for students in the municipal education network.

The bill was sanctioned this Tuesday, April 23, 2024, and published in an extra edition of the municipality’s Official Gazette. The text establishes the subsidy value of R$ 16,236,000.00, with payment in limited installments of R$ 1,476,000.00, aiming to be free until the end of 2025.

The text also benefits the elderly, people with cancer, people with disabilities, those enrolled in the Enem (National High School Examination) and entrance exam participants who take the test in the capital of Mato Grosso do Sul.

In return, the Guaicurus Consortium will have to present an assessment of the economic-financial balance study to the Municipal Public Services Regulation Agency (Agereg), together with the Municipal Department of Education (Semed) and the Department of Social Assistance (SAS).

Municipal management may open additional supplementary or special credit to meet expenses related to granting the subsidy.
