Mayor Ary Vanazzi reported this Sunday afternoon (5th) that, with the low projection of Rio dos Sinos (it had been stabilized since this Sunday morning at around 7.84 meters – at 3 pm it was at R$7 .83m) it will be possible to partially resume water supply in the city.
The supply has been suspended in the city since Friday (3rd), due to the high water level around the Semae Raw Water Pump (EAB), which affects the local energy network.
According to Vanazzi, even with the river’s projected slow decline, an alternative was discussed with Semae technicians that could enable the city’s water supply to be restored by 50% to 60%. “We built an alternative so that, perhaps, tomorrow (Monday), even with the river at this height, we can capture some water and produce 50% or 60% of the capacity we had before.”
It is worth remembering that the recovery will be partial and will depend on the system’s reserves and pressure. In other words, normalization will not be immediate, but gradually in some areas of the city.
Therefore, the warning remains of the need for water rationing until the supply is resumed.
