Aquidauana integrates MS Carbon Neutral program

Yesterday, the 22nd, a meeting was held between the municipal departments and SEBRAE about the MS Carbon Neutral program.

In this first stage, Aquidauana was chosen among the 12 municipalities in the Pantanal to participate in the MS Carbon Neutral program. The presentation on how the program will work was made by the SEBRAE Sustainability axis consultant, Carmem Nanashara.

The secretaries Marluce Luglio (Administration), Wanderley Mariano (Environment) and Aline Miranda (Culture and Tourism) participated in the meeting.

The strategic project “MS Carbono Neutro” aims to generate the methodological basis for a low-carbon economy in Mato Grosso do Sul, developing and adapting technologies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in various sectors of the economy, contributing to achieving the objectives of the State Climate Change Program – PROCLIMA.

The consultancy was focused on Sustainability and the Environment and also on a strategic agenda that will be created to implement the Carbon Neutral territory in Mato Grosso do Sul.

Mato Grosso do Sul is a reference in sustainability in several sectors and, with reinforcement in the actions of the State Government, the objective is to achieve the goal of obtaining recognition of the territory as ‘Carbon Neutral’ by the year 2030.
