Federal highway police officer Gervásio Jovane Rodrigues was arrested this Wednesday (3) for two crimes of non-compliance with a protective measure in the city of Ponta Porã. The arrest was carried out by the team from the Dourados Women’s Assistance Police Station (DAM) with support from the Federal Highway Police (PRF).

According to police information, the preventive arrest warrant was issued by the 3rd Criminal Court of Dourados. Therefore, it was found that the target of the arrest warrant was residing on the border, at his mother’s residence.

The DAM team accompanied by the PRF, also from Dourados, went to the city of Ponta Porã to arrest the suspect. After complying with the court order of arrest, a search was carried out at the residence, considering the suspicion of possession of an unregistered firearm.

Despite not locating a firearm, the team seized 100 .22 caliber ammunition of foreign origin, which is why they charged Gervásio with illegal possession of firearm ammunition for permitted use.

Therefore, the crime that led to the issuance of the arrest warrant remains under investigation by the DAM of Dourados.
