Houthis attack two commercial ships and two US destroyers

TASS – The Yemeni Ansarolá movement carried out attacks against commercial ships, the Cyclades, in the Red Sea and the MSC Orion in the Indian Ocean, said the movement’s representative, Yahya Saria.

The spokesperson added that the movement carried out drone strikes against two US destroyers in the Red Sea. According to him, the attacks “hit their targets.”

Following the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in the Gaza Strip, the Houthis warned that they would launch attacks on Israeli territory, while preventing ships associated with the Zionist State from passing through the waters of the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait until Tel Aviv ceased its military war against the Palestinians. Since last November, the Houthis have attacked dozens of civilian ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

In response, the US and its allies launched Operation Prosperity Guardian with the aim of ensuring both freedom of navigation and the safety of maritime traffic in the Red Sea.
