9. Rá-Tim-Bum Castle

There is no one for anyone: Rá-Tim-Bum Castle is among the most renowned children’s programs in the world. It was produced by TV Cultura between 1994 and 1999, totaling 90 episodes and one special.

The history of Rá-Tim-Bum Castle revolves around Nino (Cássio Scapin), a 300-year-old boy who lives with his uncle, Dr. Victor (Sérgio Mamberti), a sorcerer and scientist, and his great-aunt Morgana (Rosi Campos), who is a sorcerer. The boy lives in a castle with his uncles because his parents had to go on a space expedition. Feeling alone, Nino casts a spell and manages to take three children who were leaving school to the castle.

The program was a huge audience success and won many television awards, including some international ones. To this day, he continues to win new fans. And, to top it off, some excellent news: TV Cultura promises to make a new version soon.

8. Cocoricó

Produced between 1996 and 2013, Cocoricó was a children’s puppet show born out of a Christmas special from Rá-Tim-Bum, program prior to Rá-Tim-Bum Castle. It explored the interaction between animals on a farm, in addition to showing cartoons.

In the story, we follow Júlio, a city boy who travels to his grandparents’ house and is enchanted by Fazenda Cocoricó, located in the city of Cocoricolândia. Passionate about nature and animals, he starts to live with the horse Alípio, the chickens Zazá and Lilica, among several other animals.

7. Teletubbies

Who doesn’t remember the Teletubbies? The iconic animals with antennas on their heads were a BBC production, carried out between 1997 and 2001, focusing on very young children. The quartet Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po are still remembered today!

Here in Brazil, they worked on several channels, including TV Cultura. Many people thought the program was very silly, but the fact is that it was carefully designed to communicate with babies, entertaining them and teaching small rituals.

6. X-Everything

Another original production from TV Cultura, X-Everything It’s a classic that lasted less time than it should have. Produced between 1992 and 2002, in a co-production with SESI. To this day, it is considered a high-quality parameter for children’s and youth programming.

X-Everything There were pictures of educational and entertainment content, but everything was presented in a way that was far from a professorial tone. The character X discussed with the children topics related to biology, philosophy, history, citizenship, among others. The public also learned magic tricks and how to perform scientific experiments.

Its most famous presenter, the charismatic Gérson de Abreu, died prematurely in 2002, when he was just 37 years old.

5. Zoboomafoo

Zoboomafoo was a series produced in partnership between the United States and Canada between 1999 and 2001, totaling 65 episodes. She was created by two brothers named Chris and Martin Kratt, who also star in the show.

In the series, we meet a Coquerel’s sifaka lemur called Zoboomafoo, who is voiced and played in live-action. Other animals are also part of the program, which promotes love for nature and wild animals.

Where does it come from? is an animated series produced in 2001 and broadcast on several channels, including TV Cultura. The function of the drawing was to answer several questions common to young children, up to 6 years of age.

Between 2004 and 2005, Where does it come from? He was the audience leader for TV Cultura. The main character is Kika, a 5-year-old girl who is always curious and asking adults questions, such as where the match comes from, the electric light, among other questions.

3. Doug

And who doesn’t remember the friendly Doug Funnie? Doug is an American animated series created by the Nickelodeon channel, and produced between 1991 and 1999. The cartoon shows a 12-year-old boy called Douglas Yancey “Doug” Funnie, who lives several adventures with his family, his friends and his dog Ribs.

In Brazil, the series initially aired in 1994 within a Nickelodeon animation block included in Multishow’s programming, until finally arriving on TV Cultura. Many people still remember Doug with great affection.

two. Sesame Street

Undoubtedly, Sesame Street It’s an absolute classic all over the world. The children’s series was shown here as a Brazilian co-production between TV Globo and TV Cultura, adapting the popular North American program Sesame Streetwhich premiered in 1972.

It’s a fun children’s attraction with animals that live in a village and teach things to the children they live with. Among the topics covered in the episodes were letters, numbers, traffic rules, hygiene, among others.

In the Brazilian version, the dolls received other names, such as Garibaldo, Gugu and Funga-Funga. Here they were made by Naum Alves de Sousa, award-winning playwright, set designer and costume designer, between 1973 and 1977. It certainly marked (and continues to mark) several generations.

1. Moon World

The Brazilian series Moon World, shown on TV Cultura between 1991 and 1992, marked the childhood of many people. In total, there were 52 episodes starring the boy Lucas Silva e Silva (role of Luciano Amaral), who recorded his stories on an old recorder, as if it were a logbook, and traveled to an imaginary world in every program.

The cast that played the Silva e Silva family was full of TV stars. In addition to little Luciano, his parents and grandfather were played by Antônio Fagundes, Gianfrancesco Guarnieri and Mira Haar. The series also featured special appearances by Marisa Orth, Edson Celulari and Caio Blat. And now we can celebrate: TV Cultura also announced a new version of the program.
