Kayky Brito reappears on the internet and the driver who ran him over asks for forgiveness again

Eight months after the car accident, actor Kayky Brito updated his health status this Monday (30). Moved by the statement, the driver Diones da Silva, who ran over the artist, published a video asking for forgiveness. The actor was hit by the car in Rio de Janeiro on September 2nd.

“I want to publicly ask for your forgiveness, Kayky Brito. I saw your last video and it made me happy to see you ‘well’ and, at the same time, sad. Even though it’s not my fault, and you never blamed me, it’s a feeling that I caused something to someone! I publicly ask you for forgiveness,” said Diones.

Earlier, Kayky spoke about her recovery process: “I’m fine, thank God, I’m recovering, physically and mentally. For example, now I’m in the act of cycling, I’m cycling, but I stopped to talk to you, I owe a lot of my life to you,” he said.

“I have two huge screws in my hip, but they don’t hurt. What hurts is when I put my hand on the handlebars, because of the scars, I think I got 50 stitches […] I’m slowly recovering, I’m coming back, cycling is something I really enjoy and I feel really good. God is good all the time! I hope all is well with you wherever you are! I love you”, added Kayky.

Remember the accident

Kayky Brito was run over while crossing Avenida Lúcio Costa, in Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro, at around 1am on September 2nd. He had gone to his car to get some belongings and, when he went back to the kiosk, he was hit by a Fiat Argo car. The vehicle tried to avoid it, but was unable to do so. Security camera footage captured the exact moment of the accident.

Kayky was rescued and initially taken to the Miguel Couto Municipal Hospital, in Leblon. However, at the family’s request, the actor was transferred to Copa D’Or Hospital. He suffered head trauma, multiple fractures to his body and underwent surgery. O actor was taken out of sedation and had been breathing without the help of devices since the 13th of that month. On the 22nd, he was discharged from the ICU and had been showing progressive improvement. On the 29th, he was medically discharged.
