Institute issues new heavy rain alert for 40 cities in ES

O National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) issued this Wednesday (03) a new warning of intense rain valid for 40 cities in Espírito Santo. The notice is valid until 10am this Thursday (04).

According to the institute, rain of between 20 and 30 mm/h or up to 50 mm/day is expected, and may be accompanied by intense winds of 40 to 60 km/h.

It is also alerted to the low risk of electricity cuts, falling tree branches, flooding and electrical discharges.

The agency also gives some instructions:

– In case of gusts of wind: (do not take shelter under trees, as there is a slight risk of falling and electrical discharges and do not park vehicles near transmission towers and advertising signs).
– Avoid using electronic devices plugged into the socket.
– Get more information from the Civil Defense (phone 199) and the Fire Department (phone 193).
