The president of the Legislative Assembly of Maranhão, deputy Iracema Vale (PSB), attended, this Tuesday (30), the solemn inauguration session of the new Board of Directors of the Court of Justice of Maranhão (TJMA) for the biennium (2024/2026 ). The ceremony was held at the Governador Pedro Neiva de Santana Convention Center.

The judges José de Ribamar Froz Sobrinho – president; Raimundo Moraes Bogéa – 1st vice-president; José Jorge Figueiredo dos Anjos – 2nd vice-president; and José Luiz Oliveira de Almeida – inspector general.

The event was also attended by governor Carlos Brandão (PSB), the minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Flávio Dino; of State Ministers André Fufuca (Sport) and Juscelino Filho (Communication); the mayor of São Luís, Eduardo Braide, among other authorities.

The new Board of Directors of the Maranhão Judiciary was defined on February 1st of this year, in an administrative plenary session.

Also participating in the solemn act were state deputies Neto Evangelista (União), Zé Inácio (PT), Osmar Filho (PDT), Yglésio Moyses (PSB), Ricardo Seidel (Podemos), Jota Pinto (Podemos), Glalbert Cutrim (PDT), Solange Almeida (PL), Fabiana Vilar (PL), Cláudio Cunha (PL), Davi Brandão (PSB), Rodrigo Lago (PCdoB), Carlos Lula (PSB), Fernando Braide (PSD), Othelino Neto (PCdoB), Francisco Nagib (PSB), Ariston (PSB), Roberto Costa (MDB), Arnaldo Melo (MDB) and Daniela (PSB), as well as federal deputy Rubens Júnior (PT).

Contribution

On the occasion, the president of the State Parliament, Iracema Vale, said that the Judiciary of Maranhão goes hand in hand with the Legislative and Executive powers and has made an important contribution to the development of Maranhão.

“It is an honor to honor the inauguration of the new Board of Directors of the Court of Justice of Maranhão, whose president is now judge Froz Sobrinho, a magistrate who is always very active, close to the population and who has developed very important projects at the Court of Justice of Maranhão, especially those aimed at to the populations that need it most. Without a doubt, the new members of the TJ Board of Directors only make the Maranhão Judiciary even greater”, said Iracema Vale.

Governor Carlos Brandão also attended the inauguration ceremony. “We hope that the new members can have great management. We have built a very intense institutional relationship with the Judiciary, in harmony and respecting the independence of the Powers. I have no doubt that, with President Froz Sobrinho, it will be no different. We will always seek to form good partnerships in favor of Maranhão”, he stated.

Humanitarian

In his inauguration speech, the new president of the TJMA said that it cannot be forgotten that the mission of the Justice System is to serve people, to always be humanitarian, accessible, inclusive, fraternal, restorative and resolute. “There is no justice or exercise of citizenship without combating hunger and social inequality. As the poet and singer Belchior says, we cannot forget that we serve people and exist for this mission. Therefore, all of our governance is at the service, primarily, of the invisible, the excluded and the vulnerable”, highlighted judge Froz Sobrinho.

Judge Sônia Maria Amaral, the ministers of the Superior Court of Justice (STJ), Reinaldo Soares da Fonseca and Rogério Schiet Machado Cruz, also participated in the honor ceremony of the inauguration ceremony; the president of the Regional Labor Court of the 16th Region, Márcia Andrea Farias; the president of the Regional Electoral Court of Maranhão (TRE/MA), judge José Gonçalo Sousa Filho, and the inspector general of the Federal Regional Court of the First Region, judge Ney de Barros Belo Filho.
