Police officers participate in training that simulates prison escape in MS – Capital

Delivery of narcotics and escape of prisoners were actions combatted in a simulation by Agepen (State Penitentiary System Administration Agency) during the late afternoon and early evening of this Tuesday (30), in Campo Grande. Police teams moved to the Gameleira I penal unit to test security procedures.

According to the holder, a new approach is being developed to address risk situations within prison facilities, including changes to the architecture of the towers and the installation of new security devices. “All of this will be done in collaboration with other public security forces, taking advantage of the experience of professionals in the field. Federal Police shooting instructor, Gerson Gameiro, told Campo Grande News that the activity seeks to train police officers to work in more sensitive and important positions in prison units.

“Any police activity must be specialized to meet the specific protocols for that environment. In this simulation we explain the safety of handling weapons in a confined environment, which are towers and shooting from an angled position, to combat possible aggressors”, he reported.

In addition to the PF, teams from the PRF (Federal Highway Police) and Garras (Bank Robbery, Robbery and Kidnapping Suppression Police Station) participated in the simulated training.

The training was based on protocols already adopted by Senappen (National Secretariat for Penal Policies) in the Federal Penitentiary System and also the knowledge of BOPE (Special Police Operations Battalion) in combating the “domination of cities” by the so-called “Novo Cangaço”, when Criminal organizations take hostages and literally take over small towns or parts of them to carry out cinematic robberies.
