The capacity situation in hospitals in Santa Catarina has worsened in recent weeks. Cases and reports spread across different regions of the State. In addition to the public situation, with the concern of people who wait for hours at health units, the political climate also began to take its toll. Within the Legislative Assembly (Alesc), the topic became current. The president of Alesc, deputy Mauro de Nadal (MDB), endorsed the concern and gave voice to the problem. This Wednesday (3), he said that deputies are “very concerned” about the health scenario in SC.

– There is something wrong here between what is real and what is being said (by the State government) – said Nadal in a conversation with journalists.
Furthermore, he said that the “conversation is crooked” when referring to elective surgeries: “it is different from what he (government) is saying”. Nadal admitted that the Alesc Health Commission should call the State Health Secretary, Carmen Zanotto, to explain the current scenario.
The MDB deputy also said that “the Assembly is not comfortable with the government’s actions”, and that “a little more was expected from the State’s presence”.
