Since April 22nd, Brazil has faced an unusual heat wave, and forecasts indicate that this condition will last until at least May 10th, 2024, according to information from Climatempo. And the Holy Spirit is in the area affected by the increase in temperature during this period.
As the Climatempo map indicates, the main affected area in the Espírito Santo territory is Greater Vitória, central mountains, Caparaó and the south of the State.

WHAT IS CAUSING THE HEAT?
This is the fourth heat wave to hit Brazil recently, and it promises to intensify even further and act until May 10th.
The high pressure system in the middle levels of the atmosphere continues to block the advance of rain over the affected areas, in addition to intensifying air circulation, which prevents the formation of intense rain clouds and further increases temperatures.
Regions marked in red on the map can expect temperatures more than 5°C above normal in the coming days.

“It is important to highlight that, at this time of year, the heat is usually less intense due to the lower incidence of solar radiation and shorter days. However, this heat wave is bringing typical summer temperatures to the Brazilian autumn, defying the usual climatological expectations for the month of May”, explains information from Climatempo.
