Itaja wins Entrepreneurial City Hall award from Sebrae de Santa Catarina

The Municipality of Itajaí won the Entrepreneurial City Hall award from the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae), in Santa Catarina. The awards ceremony was held on Monday night (29), in Florianópolis. The Portal Empreenda tool, within the Conecta.í application, was developed through a partnership between the Municipality’s Fiscal Audit and the departments of Economic Development and Technology (SETEC). The Portal was highlighted among the projects from Santa Catarina, in the Entrepreneur’s Room category, and will compete in the national stage of the award, which takes place on June 11, in Brasília.

“We are very happy to bring this first place trophy to our city. This is the result of many hands who committed themselves to working on this project. We think about technology to make life easier for the population and, with this recognition, we understand that we are on the right path”, highlights the Secretary of Technology of Itajaí, Murilo Sodré.

In this edition, 2,052 projects were submitted, developed by cities in Santa Catarina, divided into 10 categories. Of these, 30 works were awarded, with emphasis on first, second and third place.

The categories contested were: Simplification and Promotion of Entrepreneurship; Entrepreneur’s Room; Government Procurement; Entrepreneurship at School; Productive Inclusion; Tourism and Territorial Identity; Sustainability and Environment; Rural Entrepreneurship; Territorial Governance; and Entrepreneurial City.

“The Empreenda Portal was created to quickly meet taxpayers’ needs, providing all the necessary information so that entrepreneurs can open their companies and achieve professional success”, highlights tax auditor Aglaé Dobrachinski.

The award aims to recognize, value and disseminate innovative initiatives carried out by municipal governments. Furthermore, the event seeks to contribute to improving the business environment, promoting entrepreneurship and territorial development.

The Empreenda Portal is an initiative by the Municipality of Itajaí to assist the population in opening new companies. The tool works as an intuitive guide and can be accessed through the “Empreenda” module in the Conecta.í app, or through this link.

The system is divided into tabs that have economic data, an activity map, step-by-step instructions for the Individual Microentrepreneur (MEI) and a field with answers to the most frequently asked questions.
