Canadian delegation visits SC technology ecosystem

At the invitation of Santa Catarina Technology Association (ACATE), Santa Catarina this week receives a delegation from Canadawho comes to the state with the aim of getting to know the local technology ecosystem.

In total, the delegation has 12 members, among representatives of universities, entrepreneurs and professionals linked to the Canadian Research Support Fund. The mission runs until April 7th and is carried out in partnership with Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce.

According to ACATE’s vice president of internationalization, Henry Bilbaothe entity’s objective with the initiative is to serve as a bridge connecting Santa Catarina to the North American country:

We want to show the size of our technology ecosystem and present the country’s strength in this area. Many countries see Brazil as a risky investment, but by showing our reality, with 1700 companies associated with ACATE representing 70% of the state’s technology revenue, we hope they realize Santa Catarina’s potential”.

The delegation’s program includes visits to innovation centers, the Federation of Industries of the State of Santa Catarina (FIESC), the Itajaí Innovation Center, ESAG at UDESC and MIDITEC. In addition, they will participate in the International Business Fair, a multisectoral event in Florianópolis that brings together a business fair, lectures and mentoring on internationalization, as well as different environments and tools for global business.
