Two men died in a serious accident involving the car they were in and a pickup truck, on Thursday afternoon (2), in the São Sebastião neighborhood, in Montanha, in the north of the state. This Friday morning (3) they were identified as Juraci Alves de Souza, aged 74, and Reginaldo Oliveira Souza, aged 38, father and son. According to the Military Police, the victims were in the car, which was driven by a 28-year-old woman, who was injured. Only the driver was in the truck, who was also injured.

In images sent by readers of The Gazette, it is possible to see that the front part of both cars was completely destroyed. The PM reported that there was a head-on collision between the two vehicles, but further details about the dynamics of the accident are not yet known.

The victim injured in the passenger car was rescued and taken to the Roberto Silvares State Hospital, in São Mateus, in a condition considered serious. There was only one woman in the truck, who was driving the vehicle and was also injured. She was taken to a hospital in Montanha. When the military arrived at the hospital, she had already been discharged.

According to the Fire Department, a team was sent to the scene to respond to the incident. The bodies of the victims were sent to the Legal Medical Service (SML) of Linhares to be autopsied and then released to their families.
