Three men were detained by the Federal Highway Police (PRF) on Sunday morning (12) on BR-235, in Itabaiana, Sergipe, for possession of a firearm. The information was released by the police on Monday morning (13).
PRF Disclosure
The PRF reported that, during an inspection command, the agents ordered the driver of a VW/Voyage with Sergipe license plates to stop, who was traveling along the stretch with three other occupants. Disobeying the team’s order, the driver tried to escape, but was then caught.
According to the police, after inspection, two handguns were found inside the vehicle. 38, two balaclavas and a total of 12 ammunition. It is not known what the objective of those involved with this material was. Furthermore, all three men had convictions for crimes such as homicide, illegal possession of a firearm and drunk driving.
The suspects were arrested and taken to the Civil Police station for the necessary measures. As it had judicial restrictions and expired licensing, the vehicle was taken to a yard agreed with the PRF.
