The Civil Police of Paraná (PCPR) arrested ten people this Friday morning (3) in an operation to suppress drug trafficking and related crimes in Dois Vizinhos and Verê, in the Southwest region of the State. The action had the support of the Military Police of Paraná (PMPR) and the Civil Police of Santa Catarina (PCSC).
Around 100 police officers were on the streets to carry out search and seizure court orders at twenty addresses. Eight arrest warrants were also served in relation to the crimes of drug trafficking and association for the sale of narcotic substances.
Eight people were arrested on outstanding arrest warrants. Of these, three were arrested for drug trafficking, and one of them was also charged with illegal possession of a firearm. In addition to them, two more men were arrested for the same crime.
Another four people were taken to formalize a detailed criminal offense for the crime of possession of drugs for personal consumption.
“The operation is the result of highly complex investigations and integrated work between PCPR teams that are distributed in several municipalities in Paraná, in addition to the support of PMPR and PCSC”, said PCPR delegate Rafael Moraes.
At the addresses, the police found portions of a substance analogous to marijuana, a tablet weighing approximately half a kilo and fractional portions of a substance analogous to cocaine and the same amount of a substance analogous to crack. In addition to the drugs, precision scales, cell phones, more than R$3,000 in cash, a firearm and ammunition were seized.
According to the delegate, today’s action is the second phase of an operation launched in March this year.
“On that occasion, three people were arrested and illicit drugs, firearms and ammunition were seized”, he explains.
The ten suspects were arrested and will be sent to the penitentiary system.
