In Acre, Suframa participates in events focused on innovation

As a way of contributing to the strengthening of innovation and technological development in the State of Acre, Suframa participates in two events designed to boost the sector and which are held this week: the “Acre Conference on Science, Technology and Innovation” and the “ Finep Day Rio Branco”.

On the morning of this Tuesday (2), municipal employees Maria Thereza Alves and Renato Santos represented Suframa at the “Acre Conference on Science, Technology and Innovation”, planned to guide policies related to science, technology and innovation in the state of Acre. The event took place in the auditorium of the Federation of Industries of the State of Acre (FIEAC), bringing together authorities, experts and representatives of the business sector.

Industry

The Secretary of State for Industry, Science and Technology (Seict), Assurbanipal Mesquita, highlighted the relevance of the conference as a guide for innovation policies in Acre. During the intervention, Mesquita analyzed the local innovation environment, highlighting challenges such as limited infrastructure and the need for training qualified human resources. Among the priority actions to strengthen the innovation ecosystem, he mentioned improving the science, technology and innovation (CTI) infrastructure and the creation of a technology park.

An important milestone for stimulating innovation in the state was the establishment of the State Council for Innovation, Science and Technology of Acre on January 5, 2024. Regulated by State Law No. 4,132 of July 17, 2023, the council is made up of 15 institutions representing the innovation ecosystem, consolidating a joint effort to boost scientific development, research and innovation in the state.

The Acre Business Innovation and Development Forum, the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae) and the approval of the Legal Framework for the sector contributed significantly to this progress in the last two years, as highlighted by Mesquita. Currently, three ecosystems are mapped in Acre: bioeconomy, agribusiness and technology.

Finep Day

On the afternoon of Wednesday (03), “Finep Day Rio Branco” is scheduled, also hosted in the FIEAC auditorium, with the institutional support of Suframa. The event focuses on discussing credit lines and notices launched by the Financier of Studies and Projects (Finep), aimed at boosting innovation and sustainability in various areas, such as bioeconomy, sustainable agribusiness, renewable energy, sanitation, waste, housing and technologies digital.

One of the main notices highlighted is “More Innovation Brazil”, which aims to invest R$66 billion in resources for research, development and innovation (RD&I) by 2026. During the event, Suframa employees will be present to clarify doubts about the IT Law in the Amazon and accreditation with the Committee for Research and Development Activities in the Amazon (Capda).
