Women’s team performs in the USA to compete in SheBelieves


Much of the 23 players called up for the women’s football team is already in Atlanta (United States) to compete in the traditional SheBelieves Tournament, the last competition before the Paris Olympics. Brazil debuts next Saturday (6) against Canada, at 4pm (Brasília time), in the semi-finals of the tournament, at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, in Atlanta. The competition brings together two other countries that have already qualified for Paris: Japan and the United States.

Striker Marta performed on Sunday (31), along with Luana and Angelina – the three defend Orlando Pride (USA) and defender Lauren, as well as athletes who play for Brazilian clubs. This Monday morning (1), Antônia, Thaís and goalkeeper Lorena joined the team led by coach Arthur Elias. The group will be completed on Tuesday (2), with the arrival of midfielder Laís Estevam (Palmeiras).

Unlike previous editions, with six matches, SheBelieves will only be played in the semi-finals and finals, due to the recently concluded Gold Cup, promoted by Concacaf. O Brazil competed as a guest and was runner-up of the Gold Cup by losing the final to the United States, 1-0.

After the debut against Canada at SheBelieves, the Brazilian team will return to the field on April 9th ​​against Japan or the United States. The competition runs until April 9th.
