Joint action closes clandestine beverage factory in Mato Grosso

-

A clandestine alcoholic beverage factory installed in Várzea Grande was closed this morning in a joint operation launched by police officers from the Specialized Environmental Police Station, Military Police, municipal secretariat for Environment and Sustainable Development and Official Forensic Science and Technical Identification (Politec) .

The inspection operation was carried out after reports that a residence in the Jardim Mangabeira neighborhood was a place where illegal drinks were produced. At the scene, the teams verified the veracity of the information, finding several drinks manufactured by hand, inside different rooms of the residence, without the minimum hygiene conditions, and it was confirmed that it was a clandestine beverage production establishment.

Several empty bottles, labels, plastic barrels and bottles of drinks such as jurubeba, catuaba, caipirinha fest, cachaça gold, alcoholic power cocktail, as well as cleaning products and snacks were also seized from the residence.

Those responsible for the clandestine factory may be liable for the crimes of producing, packaging and storing products that are harmful to health and pollution as provided for in articles 56 and 60 of the Environmental Crimes law, in addition to crimes against consumer relations.
