The man suspected of killing nursing technician Tatiane Santana Peixoto was arrested this Tuesday (30), in the city of Feira de Santana, about 100 km from Salvador. The crime took place on April 25, in the Águas Claras neighborhood, in Salvador.
According to information from the Civil Police, the man is 46 years old and had an open temporary arrest warrant. He underwent forensic examinations and is being held at the Sobradinho Police Complex, in Feira de Santana, where he will be available to the Judiciary. The suspect was the victim’s companion.
The crime was being investigated by the 2nd Homicide Police Station (DH/Central), which has already interviewed witnesses.
Remember the case involving the nursing technician
The 41-year-old nursing technician was murdered inside her home on April 25th. She was rescued and taken to Eládio Lasserre Hospital, but she did not survive her injuries.
Tatiane Santana left two children and there are no details as to whether they witnessed the crime. She worked at Hospital do Subúrbio and, in a note, the health unit mourned her death and said that the nurse had worked there for 11 years.
“It is with great regret that Hospital do Subúrbio (HS) announces the death of nursing technician Tatiane Santana Peixoto, aged 41. Tatiane was with us at HS for 11 years, joining the institution in February 2013. She worked in Pediatrics for more 2 years old, and in January 2016 she joined the staff of the Surgical Clinic. Known by her colleagues as a strong, loving woman, with a light smile and loved by the HS Nursing team, Tatiane leaves behind three children. , Hospital do Subúrbio sympathizes with family and friends.”
Tatiane’s friend spoke about the crime
A friend of Tatiane stated that the suspect had already been planning the crime. According to Juliana Alves, in an interview with TV Bahia, she tried to warn the victim before the incident.
“This was something he had already been planning, it was already in his head. In fact, he had already said that he already knew how to do everything. I tried to warn her and him, and she was even in my salon on Saturday”, he reported.
The victim’s sister, Ane Santana, said that the nursing technician reported the threats made by her partner and said that the family always advised the suspect to seek help. Still according to Ane, their marriage ended when their youngest son was born, 7 years ago. However, they continued to live together during the period.
“Because of problems [de saúde], they no longer had a relationship and it went to his head. He said: ‘if she doesn’t stay with me, she won’t stay with anyone'”, reported Tatiane’s sister.
“In her mind, he would never finish what he did yesterday. He did something cowardly, took my sister from behind and pierced her neck. I’m destroyed,” continued Ane.
Tatiane’s father, Ademário de Jesus, said he gave his daughter a lot of advice, but she did not think the relationship would result in her death.
