One of the most traditional street races in the DF receives support from Neoenergia

  • Brasília Marathon will be held on April 21st and will celebrate the capital’s anniversary

Brasília, March 27, 2024 – One of the most anticipated events among the celebrations of Brasília’s 64th anniversary, the traditional Brasília Marathon, is back on the federal capital’s sports calendar for the second year in a row, and now wears the colors of Neoenergia. With the sponsorship, the company will be even more integrated into the lives of the population of the Federal District.

The start will be on April 21st, at 7am, in front of the Museum of the Republic. In this year’s edition, runners will be able to choose routes of 3km (walk), 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km.

And there’s more: in 2024, the news will be the Bsb 64 Years Challenge and the JK Challenge. The first consists of running the half marathon on Saturday (20/04) and the marathon on Sunday. The second is to participate in two half marathons, one on each day. Whoever completes one of the two challenges, in addition to the traditional medals for the two events, will win a third prize.

Throughout the 42km race, tourist attractions in the capital will be visited, such as the Esplanada dos Ministérios, the Palaces of Justice, Itamaraty and Planalto, in addition to the National Congress. The route will also pass through the Eixo Monumental and Eixões.

Before the Brasília Marathon, the company already promoted the Neoenergia Night Run, in Bahia”, recalls Marketing Director, Lorenzo Perales. “Events like this in DF reinforce our commitment to encouraging sport and social impact in the areas in which we operate. Not to mention that it is a way to bring the brand even closer to customers”, concludes the executive.

In addition to encouraging the inclusion of women in national sport, sponsorships reaffirm the strengthening and humanization of the brand in the country, especially in its concession areas with the distributors Neoenergia Brasília (DF), Neoenergia Coelba (BA), Neoenergia Pernambuco (PE) , Neoenergia Cosern (RN) and Neoenergia Elektro (SP/MS).

The Neoenergia Team today is made up of five female athletes, who are the brand ambassadors. They are: Ana Marcela Cunha, the best open water swimmer of all time, in addition to being the first Brazilian woman to win Olympic gold in open water and already qualifying for Paris 2024; Celine Bispo, record holder in the 200 meter freestyle and owner of 10 medals at the South American Youth Aquatics Championships in Argentina, in 2023; the Brazilian road cycling and time trial champion, Ana Vitória Magalhães, Tota; the four-time kitesurfing world champion, Bruna Kajiya; and the two-time South American champion in the 3,000 meters steeplechase in the U23, Mirelle Leite.

Neoenergia also maintains a contract with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) to sponsor the Brazilian Women’s Football Teams, both the main and youth teams, and the Neoenergia Women’s Brasileirão.
