Lebanese Hezbollah said this Saturday (27) that it bombed northern Israel with “drones and guided missiles” in response to Israeli attacks that killed three people in southern Lebanon, including two who were members of the pro-Iran Islamist movement. .

Hezbollah fighters carried out “a complex attack with explosive drones and guided missiles against the headquarters of the Al Manara military command and a gathering of the forces of the 51st Battalion of the Golani Brigade,” Hezbollah said in a statement.

The Israeli army said its air defense system, known as the Iron Dome, “successfully intercepted a suspected aerial objective that crossed from Lebanon into the Manara region in northern Israel.”

His forces, he continued, “attacked the source of fire” from several anti-tank missiles launched from Lebanon towards Manara, he added.

In the early hours of Saturday to Sunday, Hezbollah also announced the launch of dozens of rockets against the Meron military base, in northern Israel, in retaliation for Israeli attacks against civilian areas in southern Lebanon.

The Israeli army responded that its defense system intercepted the missiles and that its forces had responded by firing at “military infrastructure” in the Lebanese town of Srebbine, in the south of the country.

The border between Israel and Lebanon has been the scene of practically daily hostilities since the start of the war between the Israeli Army and the Islamist movement Hamas in Gaza on October 7.

Hezbollah has also intensified attacks on Israeli military areas since tensions rose between Israel and Iran following a bombing of the Islamic Republic’s consulate in Damascus, Syria, on April 1, an action Tehran blames on Israel.

In its statements, Hezbollah announced that Israeli bombings had killed two of its fighters, originally from Kafr Kila and Khiam.

Lebanon’s National Information Agency (ANI) reported that 11 people were injured in an Israeli bombing of a house in Srebbine.
