The main roads in Santa Catarina have slow points this Maundy Thursday (28), which marks the beginning of Easter festivities. There is congestion in different places on BR-101, which connects the main cities on the State Coast.

On Thursday afternoon, the concessionaires Arteris and CCJ ViaCosteira, responsible for the highway, highlighted slowdowns at the entrance to Florianópolis and on the stretch between Penha and Navegantes. See the latest update:

Southbound

It is also possible to see slowdowns on BR-282, in the sections between Rancho Queimado and Águas Mornas and between Santo Amaro da Imperatriz and Palhoça, according to the 1pm update on the Waze platform. In Vale do Itajaí, there is congestion on BR-470, between Blumenau and Gaspar. In the North, on BR-280, queues are being recorded on the stretch between Araquari and São Francisco do Sul.
Increased flow
Arteris expects a 34% increase in vehicle flow, compared to regular days, on the stretches granted on BR-101 and BR-116.
According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), movement on federal highways should be more intense towards the interior of the State between Thursday and Friday. On the way home, there should be greater flow towards the coast, concentrated on Sunday afternoon and evening.
The PRF and the Military Highway Police Command (PMRv) will carry out operations to ensure safety on federal and state highways. On state roads, “Operation Holy Week 2024” starts at 7pm this Wednesday (27th) and runs until 7am on April 1st. On federal roads, the action begins on Thursday (28) at midnight and ends on the 31st, at 11:59 pm.
