Couple and neighbors are arrested for beating, robbing and killing taxi driver

A couple and their neighbor were arrested for beating, killing and robbing a 54-year-old taxi driver, who was found dead on Monday (25), in the Cohab neighborhood, in the South Zone of Recife, according to the Civil Police. Nilson Ferreira de Oliveira Filho was found with his hands tied in a sheet, injuries to his head and his body covered in mattresses and debris (see video above).

The victim had been missing since Saturday (23). Nilson’s family told the police that he had left his home in Olinda to meet a person he was chatting with on a dating app. However, when confessing the crime to the police, the man and woman arrested said they killed Nilson because the taxi driver was harassing her 14-year-old daughter.

Information about the case was passed on by delegate Sérgio Ricardo, responsible for the investigation, this Wednesday morning (27), during a press conference at the Civil Police Operational Headquarters, which is located in the Santo Amaro neighborhood, in the central area of ​​Recife. . The name and age of the prisoners were not released by the corporation.

“The crime of robbery was characterized [roubo seguido de morte] and concealment of a corpse. The victim had been hit by objects in the back of his head, he was covered in debris, and we noticed, a posteriorithat the body was thrown from a barrier, the couple’s house is right above it”, said the delegate.

The crimes took place on Saturday (23), at the couple’s home, which is on Rua Porto Nacional, in Cohab. According to the delegate, the couple lured the taxi driver to their house, where they beat the victim and, with the help of their neighbor, hit him in the head with a sledgehammer and threw him over a barrier while still alive.

“There is a version that he was thrown while still in agony. He was placed in a vacant lot, covered in rubbish,” said Sérgio Ricardo.

According to the delegate, the girl’s stepfather confessed that he sold the taxi driver’s car for R$4,000, to a buyer in Glória do Goitá, in Zona da Mata of Pernambuco. “We found the car, misidentified, with a tampered license plate and changes to the chassis, in Igarassu [no Grande Recife]”, said.

Investigations showed that the three arrested have a criminal history. The neighbor, who denies having participated in the taxi driver’s death, has already been arrested for murder, robbery and drug trafficking, the 14-year-old teenager’s stepfather has already been arrested for vehicle theft; and her mother is facing court for drug possession.

The couple and their neighbor were arrested red-handed on Tuesday (26). g1 contacted the Court of Justice of Pernambuco (TJPE) to find out the result of the trio’s custody hearing, but did not receive a response until the last update of this report.

Also according to Sérgio Ricardo, the 14-year-old teenager confirmed the story of harassment and said that, five months ago, she had been exchanging messages with Nilson. Contact between the two began after the girl, together with a 15-year-old friend, took a ride with the taxi driver.

“They were returning from a party and called him. He recorded her number and, she said, for five months, he kept pressuring, threatening and demanding that the teenager send photos. Saying he was going to kill her mother,” he said. the delegate.

The message exchanges included intimate photos and videos of both parties. The contact between the two was discovered by the young woman’s mother 15 days ago, after one of the teenager’s brothers used her cell phone.

The delegate also reported that the girl’s cell phone was seized to be subjected to forensic examination. The police will then investigate whether it is possible to characterize the case as sexual harassment by the taxi driver.

The taxi driver’s cell phone was not found. According to the police chief, the girl’s stepfather initially said he threw the device onto BR-101, while taking the stolen car to Glória do Goitá. However, it was later hypothesized that he exchanged his cell phone for crack rocks.

Also according to Sérgio Ricardo, condoms, vibrators and lubricating gel were found in the victim’s car in the glove compartment area.
