Manaus/AM – The State Department of Education and School Sports released, this Wednesday (27), the new schedule for the public call. The event envisages the hiring of family farming producers organized into formal groups that will supply foodstuffs, which will make up the school lunch menu in the state education network, in all 62 municipalities in Amazonas.

The period for farmers to request an appeal has been adjusted and will be from April 8th to 10th. Subsequently, the Department of Education will have a deadline of the 11th to the 15th of the same month to present counter-arguments, if necessary. The results of the appeals should be announced on April 16th and the final result is scheduled for May 3rd.

The new schedule also stipulates the period from April 17th to 23rd for the presentation of samples of some of the products that will be supplied after contracting, such as cassava flour, tapioca flour, fish fillets, fruit pulp and banana jam.

In addition to these, the event also includes the supply of other regional foods, such as cassava, yam, papaya, chicken eggs, açaí, peach palm, pumpkin, sweet potato, among others. Contracts signed with farmers will be valid for eight months.

The payment of the contracts is the result of investments of R$15.8 million from the Federal Government’s National School Meal Program (Pnae).
