Osmar Prado, who ended his contract with Globo in 2022, opened up about the first version of Reborn (1993), in which he was one of the highlights of the soap opera – which currently has its remake airing in prime time. In the work, he played Tião Galinha.
In an interview with Contigo! magazine, the veteran actor said he asked to have his character’s death brought forwardand which, consequently, culminated in his departure from Platinada at the time.

“One of my departures was when I asked to anticipate the death of Tião Galinha in the first version of ‘Renascer’, which is now having a remake. I left to do the play ‘Uma Rosa para Hitler’ in São Paulo and ended up being hired for four years by SBT”recalled Osmar Prado. “I’ve always been a bit of a rebel”he admitted.
“I already knew that the end of the contract could happen at any time. So it didn’t surprise me. But it’s interesting how, once again, the theater welcomes me.”highlighted the artist, who reflected on the end of his fixed relationship with Globo, after the end of the remake of Pantanal (2022). “When my four-year contract ended during the pandemic and they offered me to do it for two years, I already knew that, at the end of those two years, we would not renew. It was obvious”pointed.
