Marcos Palmeira can currently be seen as José Inocêncio, the protagonist of Reborn, remake showing at nine o’clock on Globo. In the soap opera, he forms a romantic couple with Theresa Fonseca, who plays Mariana, and who, as in the original version, in 1993, also became the target of criticism.

In an interview with the newspaper Extra, the artist pointed out that the public tends to reflect more on the age difference between the charactersrather than the relationship between the roles themselves. “There’s this thing about age and I think people talk about it a lot. Nowadays everyone wants to give their own opinion, so I try not to get too hung up on it. Mariana always calls him paininho”he said.

For Marcos Palmeira, the issue of ageism is evident in this case of Reborn, but it doesn’t usually absorb it. “Prejudice focuses on this, but it has a caring side too. People are calling me painho“, declared the actor, who also assured that it does not follow the opinions and criticisms of the public on the web.

“I don’t follow anything. When I post something, I don’t read comments. There are people who scoff. I’m not going to have this (bad) energy, I’m not into it. On the other hand, I don’t block anyone, I just leave them unanswered”, pointed out Marcos.
