Globo is celebrating with BBB’s audience ratings: on a night marked by record engagement on social media, with inflammatory comments from viewers calling for the expulsion of MC Bin Laden and Davi Brito, the most watched reality show in the country achieved a milestone history of ibope. Previous audience data for Greater São Paulo, obtained by the Pop TV with market sources, indicate that the attraction managed to be tuned in by more households than Renascer — it is extremely rare for any other program to surpass the 9 o’clock soap opera.

On display between 10:26 pm and 12:02 am, the program led by Tadeu Schmidt was watched by 47.2% of the televisions connected in the country’s main metropolis, while Renascer (broadcast from 9:17 pm to 10:25 pm) ensured that 43.7% of homes in Greater Grande were tuned in. São Paulo. In addition to the historic achievement in front of the most important product in Brazilian television drama, BBB also achieved its best audience performance in the last 700 days. With an average of 24.2 points, this Tuesday’s episode (26) of the reality show was the most watched of the format since April 26, 2022.

Until then, the current season of Big Brother Brasil had not exceeded an average of 23.3 points. The once-record 24th edition of the race for the millionaire prize had been achieved on two separate occasions: in the second episode of the program, broadcast on the night of January 9th, and on March 12th, with the elimination of influencer Yasmin Brunet. Taking into account only the average number of episodes aired on Tuesday nights, the fight between MC Bin Laden and Davi Brito increased the reality show’s audience ratings by 14%.

BBB made competition fight for crumbs

The record performance of BBB 24 caused Globo’s main rivals to engage in a tedious dispute over residual numbers: combined, all pay television channels and other broadcasters available on free-to-air had just 12.0 points on average — i.e. , all other linear content platforms together were unable to even reach half the number of viewers reached by Globo during the broadcast of the reality show, which reached a peak of 27.0 points.

Considering open channels, only Record (3.4) and SBT (3.0) managed to have a performance that escaped the residual ibope. The other channels measured in real time did not even have the capacity to overcome the decimal audience barrier: the lode of stations with decimal performance was opened by Band (0.9) and RedeTV! (0.7), followed by Record News (0.2), Cultura (0.2), Rede Vida (0.2), TV Aparecida (0.1) and TV Brasil (0.1), while Gazeta and RIT did not score. Combined, the pay television channels scored an average of 3.2 points.

In Greater São Paulo, each point symbolizes the harmony of 73,280 households and 191,480 individuals. O Pop TV will reveal the consolidated audience data for the historic episode of BBB 24 in the early afternoon of this Wednesday (27).
