Robinho has his prison photo published and is confident that he will be released by Easter, says newspaper

Inmate at Tremembé penitentiary, in São Paulo, former player Robinho had a photo released in prison last Wednesday (28). According to the newspaper “Folha de São Paulo”, the former striker also believes that he will be released by next Sunday (31).

Robinho reportedly spoke to prison officers who believe in freedom by the end of the week. The former player even joked that he will “eat Easter eggs at home”. The former athlete would be calm and smiling during his first days in prison.

Arrested for a week, Robinho is isolated from other inmates and is still unable to receive visitors in the prison. The former player was arrested last Thursday (21) after the Superior Court of Justice approved the Italian sentence of nine years in a closed regime.

Robinho was convicted of the gang rape of a young Albanian woman, in a nightclub in Milan, in 2013. As Brazil does not extradite native citizens to serve sentences in other countries, the Italian court requested that the former attacker receive the sentence here.
