São Paulo – The Ministry of Agriculture identified a clandestine production network and seized around 20 tons of cheese at different stages of processing, on Tuesday, 23, in Patos de Minas (MG). According to a statement from the ministry, the action occurred following a complaint registered with the Integrated Ombudsman and Information Access Platform (Fala BR), indicating the manufacture of cheeses without registration with federal, state or municipal bodies and which were being used as ingredients for manufacturing. of cheese bread in Curitiba (PR).

The action coordinated by the Ministry of Agriculture had support from the Minas Gerais Agricultural Institute (IMA) and the Military Environmental Police.
By investigating the data on the product labels reported in the complaint, inspection teams identified two establishments in the city of Minas Gerais that acted as a network for the illegal production and sale of the product.
According to the Ministry, in the locations visited, inspectors found large quantities of cheese in unsanitary conditions and without any type of hygienic-sanitary control. Tampered federal and state inspection seal labels were also identified.
All products were seized, mischaracterized, discarded and subsequently destroyed in the Patos de Minas landfill.
