Man is arrested after trying to pose as a doctor and register with the Medical Council
A fake doctor was arrested this Wednesday (8) after trying to get registered with the Regional Council of Medicine in Tocantins. To issue the document, he even presented a false recommendation from the college and created a page on the internet. He was arrested this Wednesday (8), in Palmas.
The man’s name was not released, so the g1 had no contact with the defense.
The registration validation process goes through two stages. The first where copies of the documents are sent and the second where the doctor has to present the documentation to the council in person.
According to the vice president of CRM in Tocantins, Wordney Carvalho, the team that evaluates the documentation was suspicious of the fake doctor from the first stage. He was arrested after going to the council unit in Palmas.
“In the first stage, it was already verified by our team that those documents that had been presented were false. A resource was even used. An email was sent as if it had been sent by the college where the person studied recommending that person. This was also done a page on the internet so that when we searched his name on Google it would appear first as a doctor’, he explained.
The CRM reported that cases of fake doctors trying to get into the board have been increasing in the state. In 2022, one person was identified with false documents and last year, four were caught.
