Rio – A 12-year-old student was injured in a “backpacking” at the João Proença Municipal School, in Campo Grande, in the West Zone of Rio. The case happened inside the classroom.

According to witnesses, some students in the class invited the boy to participate in the “backpacking”, seen by them as a game, which consists of throwing their backpacks at each other.

During the game, one of the classmates ended up hitting the student’s head and, due to the weight of the objects inside the backpack, he ended up causing a serious injury.

The student was taken to the hospital and needed three stitches in his head due to the severity of the injury. Because the game took place inside the classroom, the teacher responsible for the class was temporarily removed from his activities.

Due to what happened, the Municipal Department of Education reported that the student and his mother were welcomed by the school team. In addition, an investigation was opened to investigate what happened.
