The Midwest and Southeast should no longer receive significant rain and temperatures exceed 35ºC
The action of a mass of dry and hot air is preventing the advance of rain into the interior of Brazil. Meteorological models show that in the coming days the dry air mass will gain even more strength, raising temperatures and lowering relative air humidity in areas of the Central-West and Southeast.
The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) issued a yellow alert for low humidity valid in São Paulo, Minas Gerais, the extreme south of Goiás and areas of Mato Grosso. “Relative air humidity varying between 30% and 20%. Low risk of forest fires and health”, states the publication.
According to data from the Cosmo model, this Wednesday (24), these states should record the highest temperatures, with emphasis on São Paulo and Mato Grosso, which could have maximum temperatures between 36ºC and 38ºC.
The heat will also be present in the center-north of Paraná, with maximum temperatures between 32ºC and 36ºC. Mato Grosso do Sul has forecast temperatures of up to 36ºC and areas of Matopiba may record maximum temperatures between 30ºC and 34ºC.

The update of the extended forecast model for the next 15 days, released this morning by the Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), shows that the dry season is already beginning in Brazil.
In the period between April 24th and March 2nd, there is no forecast of rain in the entire Central region of the country. Humidity will be restricted to the south of Brazil, with accumulations of between 70mm and 100mm in Rio Grande do Sul. There is also rain forecast for Santa Catarina and the extreme south of Paraná, but without significant volumes.
Between the 2nd and 10th of May, the model maintains rainfall only for the south of the country, with accumulations between 90mm and 125mm in the period. Furthermore, from this date onwards, irregular rain also becomes scarcer in areas of the Northeast and North of Brazil.
