Tocantins will provide an aircraft to send the military to the southern region of the country this Sunday. “We understand that the state of Rio Grande do Sul is experiencing a delicate situation, in which heavy rains are taking lives and this worries us greatly,” said governor Wanderlei Barbosa.
The Independent Search and Rescue Company will provide two firefighters and search dogs, as well as two divers. The Tocantins Fire Department will also send a lieutenant as a liaison officer, to coordinate and communicate the mission in Rio Grande do Sul.
“Making ourselves available to help our brothers from Rio Grande do Sul. We have a qualified and prepared team, we are going to arrive in the South to contribute and bring help to as many people as possible, we want to guarantee rescue and comfort for the families of that state”, said the lieutenant -Colonel Donaldo Oliveira.
