Deadline for MT producers to inform Indea herd stock ends on June 4th

Rural producers in Mato Grosso have until June 4th to inform the State Government of detailed data on their herds and rural properties. The state herd update campaign, carried out by the Agricultural Defense Institute of the State of Mato Grosso (Indea-MT), began on May 1st.

The measure replaced vaccination against foot-and-mouth disease and serves as a basis for the State Government to plan future operational actions of official veterinary services, as well as to certify the origin of the animals.

Producers of cattle, buffaloes, pigs, poultry, sheep, goats, sheep, horses, mules, donkeys, fish and bees must communicate the livestock stock. Rural producers who do not inform the amount are subject to a single fine of 27 Fiscal Standard Units (UPFs), whose monetary value is R$6,383.00.

Herd communication can be done through the producer module, or in person at any Indea unit or outposts. On the municipality’s website, under Animal Health, you can find other information about the campaign.

To access the producer module, the interested party must request registration at an Indea unit, and sign the Term of Commitment to Use the Computerized System. On the website, in the Animal Health – Non-In-Person Service section, you can access the aforementioned term.

During communication, rural producers who have cattle and buffaloes under their responsibility may also register the brand.

GTA

Rural producers who did not update their herd by this Tuesday (05/07) are already prevented from issuing the Animal Transit Guide (GTA), except if the animal is for slaughter. Therefore, if you need to move animals, the suggestion is that rural producers carry out herd communication as soon as possible.

In the last campaign carried out by Indea, in November 2023, 126,441 rural establishments were registered. In addition, there were 34.1 million cattle, 56.5 million fish, 33.2 million commercial birds, 1.6 million technical pigs and 450 thousand horses.
