Palmeiras goes to Uruguay to face Liverpool in the Libertadores

Palmeiras trained this Wednesday morning, at the Football Academy, to finish their preparations for the clash with Liverpool-URU, which takes place at 7pm (Brasília time) on Thursday, at Centenário, for the fourth round of the group stage of the Conmebol Libertadores. The delegation travels this afternoon to Montevideo, Uruguay.

At the Football Academy, there was muscle activation and on the field there was work on tactical concepts and construction of plays using stakes. The team also did a recreational and dead ball training session.

Strikers Dudu and Bruno Rodrigues worked with the squad again and continue to advance in the recovery process after knee surgery, but are not yet traveling to Uruguay.

On the other hand, the one who is expected to return is midfielder Raphael Veiga – who was rested in the last game, against Cuiabá, due to physical exhaustion after a sequence of matches as a starter at Verdão.

Abel Ferreira, therefore, must take to the field a team with: Weverton, Mayke, Murilo, Gustavo Gómez and Piquerez; Aníbal Moreno, Richard Ríos (Zé Rafael) and Raphael Veiga; Lázaro (Estevão), Endrick and Flaco López.

Palmeiras is at the top of Group F, with seven points – three above Independiente del Valle – and can confirm their qualification to the round of 16 of the Libertadores this Thursday. They need to win and count on San Lorenzo stumbling against Del Valle, in Argentina.

Abel’s favorite, Estévão is the new jewel of Palmeiras
