This Sunday (05), for the 32nd round of the German ChampionshipO Bayer Leverkusen visited the Frankfurt at Deutsche Bank Park and scored 5-1. The winning goals were scored by Granit Shaka, Patrik Schick, Exequiel Palacios, Frimpong and Boniface, while Hugo Ekitike scored the home team’s only goal.

With the positive result, the team led by Xabi Alonso, already German champions, maintained their incredible unbeaten record in the competition. Now, the club, which reached 84 points, has 26 wins and six draws in 32 duels played. On the other hand, Frankfurt was stuck in sixth place, with the same 45 achieved.

Encouraged, the team returns to the field to face the Pomegranate next Thursday, for the second leg of the semifinal of the Europa League. Frankfurt visits the Borussia Mönchengladbach next Saturday, in the Bundesliga.

The goals

The first was scored by Granit Shaka, at 12 in the initial stage. The athlete took advantage of the surplus at the edge of the area and sent a beautiful shot into the goalkeeper’s left corner.

At 32, Frankfurt equalized with Hugo Ekitike, after the athlete received a great pass from Farès Chaïbi and just pushed it towards the goal.

However, Xabi Alonso’s team took the lead again, this time with a goal scored by Patrik Schick, at 44, in the first half. The player took advantage of the deflection of his teammate’s cross and headed it into Kevin Trapp’s right corner.

In the 13th minute of the final stage, Exequiel Palacios took advantage of the opportunity and converted the penalty, despite Trapp having hit the corner.

Frimpong, at 32, scored Leverkusen’s fourth. The player received it from Hložek inside the area and coolly found the net.

Finally, at 44, Boniface completed the rout. The player took advantage of the team’s second penalty of the game and converted the charge.
