18-year-old girl is raped and stabbed 15 times after robbery in Maragogi

An 18-year-old girl was robbed and then dragged to a bush, where she was raped, beaten and stabbed 15 times in the village of São Bento, in Maragogi, on the Alagoas Coast, on Monday night (22). The man identified as the perpetrator of the crimes is 21 years old and was arrested by the Military Police on Tuesday afternoon (23).

According to soldiers from the 6th Police Battalion (6th BPM), the young woman was stabbed in the neck, face, breasts, arms, hand and thigh, and was punched several times in the face. She was taken to the Emergency Care Unit (UPA) in Maragogi.

As soon as the victim was admitted to the UPA, the unit activated the 6th BPM. At the scene, the military heard the story of the young woman, who stated that she was able to identify the criminal and that he was an acquaintance.

The victim also said that the man approached her when she returned from a friend’s house and demanded that she hand over her cell phone, a necklace and other belongings. Afterwards, he dragged her by her hair to a bush, where she committed sexual violence.

The young woman also reported that she tried to escape, but the criminal stabbed her and punched her in the face. After the attack, even though she was injured, she managed to escape. The attacker fled on a motorcycle.

Less than 24 hours after the crimes, the attacker was identified and arrested in the act at his workplace, at a hotel construction site in Praia do Salgado, in Japaratinga, on the banks of the AL-101 Norte highway. He was then taken to the 8th Regional Police Station (8th DRP) of Camaragibe Headquarters.

At the police station, the 21-year-old man was charged with the crimes of rape and attempted murder, and was arrested.
